Other than never giving it any water, you can't kill this lovely Japanese native. Thick, sturdy, upright stalks to 6-7' tall burst into huge clouds (3' across) of lavender-pink Columbine-like flowers in June. Some say it's best massed, but our single plant­ings never fail to impress. Deciduous but returns each season. Rich, loamy soil. Cut back to 1" in Fall. Deer resistant! May ship dormant until May.
