Festuca glauca - Elijah Blue
The best variety of Festuca glauca, ‘Elijah Blue’ was selected for its intense silvery-blue, fine textured leaves that reach 8”-10” in height. A superb color accent, and solid performer in cool coastal climates, this clump forming, soft foliage grass, makes an excellent ground cover for small areas, and is a good choice for edging. It’s evergreen and should have well-drained soil - not clay. Plant on 12” centers and shear it back in late Winter for a longer life and neater appearance. Sun is best, but will tolerate light shade in hotter climates. DROUGHT TOLERANT in coastal areas.
