Eschscholzia californica - Copper Pot

‘Copper Pot’ is the sort of California Poppy that seems to catch fire at the very moment the sun hits it, all warm coppery-orange silk and unapologetic glow. The satiny blooms hover above finely cut blue-green foliage and bring a bright, easy kind of beauty from spring into early summer. Like the best of the California Poppies, it asks for very little: lean to average well-drained soil, plenty of sun, and only light water once established. It often reseeds where it is happy, weaving itself into wildflower plantings, cottage gardens, and sunny borders with delightful enthusiasm. Pollinators stop by often, and the delicate flowers open wide in sunshine, then close again in the evening or on cloudy days. Grows about 12" to 14" tall and wide. Deer resistant.
